Can Fashion Change the World? part II
I
had a good night sleep over the question “"Can Fashion Change the World?" and this morning I woke up with some thoughts I would
like to share.
It
is funny, while I was watching this video on Vogue's web site, I
thought that I knew all of it.
For those engaged in human rights and
ecology all of this is not new. We have been “ringing the bell”
for years now. With campaigns such as the "Clean Clothes Campaign" or "Detox" a campaign launched by Greenpeace.
So
what is new about this video? In my opinion the novelty is that it comes from
Vogue. It comes from the fashion temple. They took their time but
they are getting there!
I
can see myself discussing these subjects with the volunteers of the
association for which I used work in our small charity shop in
Rimini, Italy. Or in primary schools, trying to explain to Italian
children that in other parts of the world there are children (exactly
like them) exploited in factories, producing the nice shoes that we
are all wearing. I can see myself in France, where I lived for 5
years, discussing these issues with some friends. We eded up starting
a cultural association to raise awareness about these problems.
I
can see a "bubbling pot of ideas" that drive change, starting from
ordinary people arriving to red carpets.
So
well, yes, all this "Vogue thing" is good. It is a good start for them but
I think they have still a long path to take in order to reach us, the
“normal” people.
People who want the fashion industry to have a
soul.
So
bravo! Vogue but hurry
up, turn words into actions!

A job and a house to rent in London please...
A
job and a house to rent in London please...
I
strongly believe in an ethical way of life and I do not want to
compromise anymore.
I
refuse to work for a coffee shop that at the end of the day throws
away sandwiches and tones and tones of food...This is mental!
I
refuse to buy cheap clothes because they are made on the expenses of
people, animals and the environment. And yes I like fashion,
dresses, bags and shoes!!!
I
refuse to be cruel because in the big city you have to be cruel and
fast. I do not want to give up on my kindness... but bare in mind I
am not dumb.
I
refuse to give up on my sense of honesty because it is easier to rent
a house in London. Yes, I have two dogs, and yes I take good care of
them.
It
makes me seak to buy cheap household cleaning products because they
are not eco and animals friendly.
I
haven' got a specific formation:
I
am not a Translator, I am not and Environmental or Fashion Expert, I
do not speak French as I was a French woman nor English as I was
English. But I am honestly quite good at all of that!
I
can confirm that I am a serious person, that in any job I had I gave
the 100% of me. And I can confirm that each time I had to quit a job
my colleagues and managers were sad to let me go.
Give me a chance you won't be disappointed..
By the way..here the 2 terrible dogs that NOBODY wants in London...
